INSIDE THE ALBUM with Frankie:
At this stage, we were a four-piece band, playing gigs all over Las Vegas and up and down the West Coast. Around that time, I was really into punk music, so we decided to incorporate that influence into our sound. We wanted to create something with a heavier edge, yet still focused on storytelling.
The music we began writing captured our experiences on the road, as well as the fascinating people we met along the way. Our fan base was growing, mainly underground, and largely made up of young women. So, we aimed to bring high-energy, fun vibes into the music—something that would resonate with them.
We definitely stepped out of our comfort zone with this project, but looking back, it perfectly captures that period of our lives. It’s a true time capsule of where we were and what we were feeling at that moment.
Fun fact: This album is flown to space by NASA on May 31, 2008. Astronaut Mark Kelly brings it aboard the United States Space Shuttle “DISCOVERY”, which launches at 5:02 p.m. EDT, from pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida.
